Search Engine Optimization

I chose search engine optimization as a topic because it applies to the real world. We can build sites that never make it to the public but having to use search engine optimization would allow us to see the different challenges that companies, who sell products and services on the web, face. Things like when products expire, share identifying information, or lack in metadata can impact the search rankings and drive down traffic to your store. Learning site optimizing strategies and techniques can help your company. I learned all of this watching SEO: Ecommerce in Lynda.com. I have included lecture notes on topics that answer how SEO affects the buying process, researching customers, keywords, and competitors, using rich media, designing landing pages to drive engagement, blogging for SEO, A/A testing with Optimizely, and a personal favorite: Measuring traffic with Google Analytics. There are a lot of tools out there to help search engine optimization and I have work to show my findings.
